Why creative should come
before media spend

Buying reach for weak creative just means more people ignore it faster.
That is the hard truth.

Dealerships spend a lot of money solving the wrong problem. They look at the media schedule, the impressions, the CPM, the market coverage, the targeting, the platforms, and the placements.

All of that matters.
But none of it can save a message nobody cares about.

Before the media dollars move, the campaign needs a reason to exist. What are we saying? Why should anyone notice? Why should a shopper remember this dealership instead of the next one? What is the offer? What is the tension? What is the hook? What action do we want?

A media plan can distribute the message.
It cannot create the message.

That is why BAM starts with the creative problem before the media problem. Not because media is less important. Because media gets more powerful when the creative is sharper.

The best campaigns connect the offer, the message, the market, and the media before anything launches. That is how you avoid wasting good media on forgettable advertising.

BAM point of view

Creative should answer:

  • What are we trying to move?
  • Why should the market care?
  • What makes the message memorable?
  • What is the clearest action?
  • Where should this message run?

That is the difference between buying ads and building a campaign.

Before you spend the media dollars, sharpen the message.
