Why display ads usually
look disposable

Most dealer display ads look like they were built in ten minutes.
Because they probably were.

Logo. Vehicle. Payment. Disclaimer. Button. Done.

That may technically be an ad, but it is not a campaign idea. It is a box with information in it.

Display gets treated like a low-value channel, so the creative often becomes an afterthought. That is a mistake. Display may not carry the full emotional weight of a TV or radio campaign, but it still has a job.

It has to reinforce the message.
It has to look connected to the campaign.
It has to be readable fast.
It has to make the dealership recognizable.
It has to avoid looking like every other offer in the market.

Bad display creative does not just get ignored.
It trains people to ignore the dealership.

BAM looks at display as part of the full campaign system. If the radio has a hook, the display should echo it. If the video creates a visual world, the display should extend it. If the campaign is built around a trade offer, approval message, truck push, SUV push, or sales event, the display should not feel like a disconnected template.

Display does not need to be complicated. It needs to be intentional.

BAM point of view

Good dealership display should be:

  • Campaign-connected
  • Fast to understand
  • Visually disciplined
  • Offer-clear
  • Brand-recognizable
  • Built with enough care to not look disposable

The medium may be small.
The impression still matters.

Want display that looks like somebody cared?
