How trade-in campaigns
create urgency

The trade-in offer is one of the strongest tools a dealership has.

Why?

Because it speaks to a shopper who may not think they are ready to buy.

They may not be shopping for a new vehicle yet. They may not be comparing payments. They may not be searching inventory every day. But they probably have a vehicle in the driveway. And they probably wonder what it is worth.

That creates an opening.

A strong trade-in campaign gives the shopper a reason to raise their hand. It turns the conversation from “Do you want to buy?” into “What could your current vehicle be worth?”

That is a much easier door to open.

The mistake is treating every trade campaign the same.

“We want your trade.”
“Get top dollar.”
“We need used cars.”
“Your trade is worth more.”

Those lines are not wrong. They are just overused. If every dealer says the same thing, nobody owns the message.

BAM builds trade-in campaigns around sharper hooks. The condition of the vehicle. The hidden value. The emotional attachment. The surprise of the appraisal. The urgency of inventory needs. The idea that the shopper’s current car may be the key to the next one.

Trade-in advertising works when it feels immediate, believable, and easy to act on.

BAM point of view

A trade-in campaign should:

  • Create urgency
  • Lower the barrier to action
  • Make the appraisal feel valuable
  • Connect the trade to the next purchase
  • Give the dealership a memorable hook

The offer gets them interested.
The creative gets them to remember who made the offer.
